It is with great regret and sorrow that we have learned and must inform you of the death of Ron Gutt, our former classmate, on February 26, 2008, at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh, NC, following an extended illness. 

Ron is survived by his wife, Carolyn R. Gutt; daughters, Heidi Mills and husband, Greg; Joy Ducker and husband, Greer; Jolene Warych and husband, Ken; son-in-law, Robbie Estes; and six grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew Estes, Caroline and Grace Mills, Grayson and Ashley Ducker.  His son, Vincent, and daughter, Veronica, preceded him in death. 

Well done, Ron.  Be thou at peace.

Obituaries:

Ronald Matthew Gutt, 70, of Raleigh, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Duke Health Raleigh Hospital, following an extended illness.

A native of Chicago, IL, he was born on February 7, 1938 to the late Stanley and Genevieve Blaszkiewicz Gutt. His son, Vincent and daughter, Veronica also preceded him in death.

Ron was a former cadet of West Point Military Academy and served his country in the US Army. He received his MBA from Wake Forest University. For more than 30 years, Ron was employed with IBM, from which he retired. His interests included: living in Japan, photography, computers, Polish food, Stephen King novels, playing Pinochle and spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving are: his wife of 46 years, Carolyn R. Gutt of the home; daughters, Heidi Mills and husband, Greg of Clayton, Joy Ducker and husband, Greer of Greensboro, Jolene Warych and husband, Ken of Youngsville; son-in-law, Robbie Estes of Olathe, KS. Also surviving are: sisters, Christine Halawa and husband, Tony and Cynthia Milan; six grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew Estes, Caroline and Grace Mills, Grayson and Ashley Ducker.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh.
