BORN 1939 DIED 2021
August 2, 2021, James D. Jackson of Manasquan, New Jersey, passed
away peacefully in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. He was 82 years-old.
Jim was born on February 13, 1939, in Lyndonville, Vermont. Jim was raised in
Lyndonville and attended the Lyndon Institute where he excelled in his studies
and athletics, lettering in football and basketball. Upon graduation from high
school, Jim received a Congressional nomination to attend the United States
Military Academy at West Point. Jim attended West Point, studying engineering
and while a cadet, he met his beautiful wife, Patricia. Jim and Patricia were
married in 1961, and the couple moved to Frankfurt, Germany where Jim served in
the U.S. Army Signal Corps. After completing his army service, Jim was honorably
discharged and the couple returned to the United States and settled in New
Jersey where they raised their family.
In the United States, Jim worked as an executive for New Jersey Bell. During his
tenure with the company, Jim attended Rutgers University where he earned a
Master's Degree in business administration. Jim retired from the telephone
company in 1994, and he and Patricia moved to Spring Lake, NJ. Jim subsequently
obtained his series seven license and he continued working as a certified
financial planner until about 2016.
Jim loved playing and watching sports and he enjoyed playing cards and board

adored by his family and friends. Perhaps his most enduring legacy was always
being there for his children and grandchildren.
