In planning for a 50th Prep
School reunion Ed Brown learned that we have lost another classmate, Lester D.
Bieri, Company C-1, who was found Plebe year. All we know to date
is that he died on 4 Oct 05 in Yorktown, VA. His wife passed away on 22
Jan 06. They have a son Dean who lives in Seaford, VA and a daughter
Terri who lives in Lamoine, Maine

My dad spoke fondly of that time in his life and was extremely proud of
having been a part of the tradition of the United States Military Academy, if only for a short time. I believe it set the
course for the rest of his life, in which there were many successes. I have no doubt that he would have wanted to be
included in the last roll call and I appreciate your thoughtfulness.

LESTER DUANE BIERI SR.
YORKTOWN
Lester Duane Bieri Sr., died Tuesday, Oct 4,2005, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Lester was born in Alamosa, Colo. and lived on the Peninsula for 50 years. He was a graduate of Hampton High School class of
1956. He attended West Point Military Academy and served in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee of Newport News
Shipbuilding where he was a nuclear test engineer. He owned and operated an auto parts chain for more than 20 years and
more recently was a real estate developer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Rose J. Bieri; son, Dean Bieri and his wife, JiII, of Seaford; a daughter,
Terri Gleason and her husband, Greg, of Lamoine, Maine; a sister, Diane Guy and her husband, Wayne, of Yorktown; six
grandchildren, Libby and Charlotte Bieri, and Kateland, April, David and Grace Gleason.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct 8, at 11 a.m. in Amory Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
